UCR’s School of Public Policy will celebrate the launch of its master’s program on September 25th, 2015. The event will be attended by the inaugural class of 29 students, as well as policy-makers, legislators and family members of the students.

The keynote address will be given by Kevin de Leon (D-Los Angeles), president pro tempore of the California and first Latino to be elected president pro tempore since Reginald F. Del Valle in 1854.

“As we wrestle with 21st century challenges such as climate change, quality education and access to health care, it is important that the next generation of policy leaders develop powerful new ideas that provide imaginative, innovative solutions,” De Leon said to UCR Today.

“I look forward to attending the launch of the UCR School of Public Policy’s Master of Public Policy program and engaging in meaningful conversation about how these students — and Inland Southern California — can play an important role in shaping California’s future.”
